Davenport School District is committed to the safety of our staff, students and visitors. Students thrive best when they know they are secure at school. Our goal is to ensure that the district is prepared to effectively respond to all emergencies that might affect the safety or security of students and staff. Although it is impossible to guarantee 100% school security, it is possible to significantly minimize risks that harm will come to anyone on school grounds (or in a school building). We also are mindful of the delicate balance needed between making our buildings more secure, while ensuring they function and feel like welcoming, neighborhood learning centers for our students where everyone belongs. School safety planning is guided by Washington State law and Davenport School District Board policies.
